Welcome to American Sign Language at Harvard!

American Sign Language has been a small but vibrant academic field at Harvard since fall 2016. Now there are six levels of the language offered, with a strong support from the Department of Linguistics and students. ASL can now also be used to count for the Harvard College Language Requirement, and interested students can earn a language citation in ASL.
